*NEW* Off-season Weight and Conditioning Program
New In-House Flag Program
New In - House Flag Program
Rick Kupchuk, Staff Reporter, The Surrey Leader:
"We are trying to meet the demand for a in-house program similar to the mini soccer," said CCFA president Yeera Sami. "There has been a huge request to accommodate the five year olds in flag football."
Players with birth years 1999 to 2001 are welcome to join. CCFA will be placing only 10 players on each team.
"Flag is a nine-man game and with only 10 players per team, the kids will be playing a lot and on both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball," said Sami. "The idea is to allow the young ones early to learn and play Canadian rules football, in a non-contact and non-competitive environment."
Participants will get one to two hours of practice each week, beginning in august, as well as games n Sunday mornings starting in September.
All practices and games will be at the Cloverdale Athletic Park, and the season will last for 10 weeks.
The registration fees will be $50.00. All equipment will be supplied and the players will get to keep their game shirts.
The club is also looking for additional coaches to start this program. Interested parents and coaches can call Joyce Soul at 604-590-2774 or Yeera Sami at 604-592-0466 for registration information,
