2006 "The SnowBowl" VMFL Championship Games (21)
No one will ever forget the 2006 VMFL Championship Games ! Historically held in the weather safe confines of BC Place Stadium, this year the event was forced to move at the last minute due to a sore throat of one of the Rolling Stones! The rescheduling of the Stones Tour kicked the VMFL out of the dome and the CCFA stepped up and volunteered to host at our own artificial turf field at Cloverdale Athletic Park... but who could foresee that the night before, and all through game day, the Lower Mainland would be hit by one of its heaviest single day snowstorms ever! about 18" by game time and 8" more throughout the day.... but our volunteers saved the day ... many showing up around 6am to shovel and otherwise prepare and staying not just through the last game but through the cleanup as well. Thanks to all.... the kids will remember the day for the rest of their lives! -

Grand Opening Ceremonies - Artificial Turf Field (9)
December 2003 saw the official opening of the new artificial turf field that the CCFA helped bring into play... Gusting wind and heavy rain did not damper the ribbon cutting ceremonies of the new synthetic turf field at Cloverdale Athletic Park Tuesday evening December 2, 2003. In attendance were Mayor Doug McCallum, Surrey Council and Commission Members, and a good turnout of hardy football enthusiasts, including representative from FieldTurf and Matcon contracting. -
Growing an Artificial Turf Field (10)
Thanks to our Mayor, council and the commission members our new synthetic field that is under construction will now be expanded to include 15 yd end zones with the turf being upgraded to the same as the world's best play on! The good news is we are able to expand the field size now during construction rather than waiting to do it at a later date, which would have been too expensive, if and when allowed, and also inconvenient to other user groups. Our clubs contribution to this expansion is $44,000.00, about 25% of the cost to do it later. The project also includes a new announcer's tower similar to our present tower. Completion date is six weeks from now if the weather permits. Our children will be playing on the same high quality synthetic field that the NFL, CFL and university teams play on. The new field will be our home field for all home games and practices. You will see the difference when you come to practice. -

A Clubhouse Finally ! (55)
A photo documentary of the construction of our highly anticipated clubhouse, located right in Cloverdale Athletic Park. Built in 2002 after a lot of hard work, fundraising and lobbying performed primarily by CCFA President Yeera Sami, this permanent structure meant the CCFA would no longer have to rent clubhouse space. Also, the obvious, yet hard to acquire, convenience of having everything in one location within the park! Many parents will fondly?? recall driving back and forth from the park to downtown Cloverdale, where the rented clubhouse was located for many years. -
