About the CCFA
The Cloverdale Community Footbal Association was founded in 1992 and has a rich record of accomplishments since that time. We've had thousands of young athletes and cheerleaders progress through our program -- many being with the program all the way from out enty level flag program (5 years old) through to our senior team (Cloverdale Bengals - Midget 18 year olds).
We believe players will develop as athletes by playing in all games and receiving equal practice time from strong coaching staffs. Our practice schedule allows to players to excel not only on the footbal field but in the classroom as well. With a strong committment to the devlelopment of on field skills, in a reasonable amount of practice time, our players are provided the time to work equally hard on their education. We emphasize the fact that it requires excellent academic standing to be accepted by universities and we stronly recommend to our players to make use of extra time in school to improve their grades.
Each year we have about 300 participants ranging in age from 5 years to 18 years old. At the youngest age the game is non-contact "flag" football but from 8 years old to the most senior levels full equipment (pads, helmet, uniform and mouthgard) is provided as part of the registration fee. At the CCFA we provide the finest equipment available in the market. Follow these links to learn more about our <programs> or <teams>.
Most important of course is for our participants to have fun while they develop their skills, and we are proud that so many want to come back year after year. Some even decide that football must remain a part of their lives even after they "graduate" from our program and so return to help coach with some of our teams! We've also had players continue their careers past youth football. Infact, in the past we have had players move on to success in the following areas:
- university scholarship with the Washington State Cougars
- University play with Stanford University
- BC Junior Footbal League
Along the way to ensuring that our participants have fun and develop their skills we have also contributed in many ways to the community including:
- Annual Football Clinic and picnic in the Park - for only $5 any child can have a chance to try it out and learn a little football in a strictly no contact fun filled day. Includes lunch and often a chance to meet and be instructed by professional players and coaches and others with University and CFL experience. This event is open to all members of the community - you don't have to belong to the CCFA to take part in the fun. Learn more about our <2007 event>.
